Safer Recruitment:
(1) For the wider workforce;
(2) For the education sector and;
(3) For those working with adults.
This training has been delivered to Councils, Children's Homes and Recruitment Agencies. Click here to see what other customers have had to say about this training.
THIS TRAINING WILL BE DELIVERED FACE TO FACE ONLY.
Angela spent three days being specifically trained by NCSL to deliver this training and is registered with the Safer Recruitment Consortium to receive regular updates. (http://www.saferrecruitmentconsortium.org/)
The course increases the skills and knowledge of those involved in any part of the recruitment process. This is either paid or voluntary workers within organisations working with or supporting children and also those working with adults at risk of harm.
Who should attend?
This course is a must for those involved in any part of the recruitment process for paid or voluntary staff.
What will the session involve?
The workshop is very interactive – based around a number of discussions, activities and exercises to help you develop your knowledge and skills.
1. The importance of embedding safer recruitment techniques as part of your whole safeguarding process
2. Characteristics of abusers and how they operate
3. Planning an effective process from advertisement to pre-employment
4. How to maintain your organisations processes
What will you gain from it?
1. An understanding of how safer recruitment fits within the wider context of safeguarding
2. An understanding of the reasons for and benefits of using advertisements and short listing techniques
3. Knowledge of using structured interviewing processes and pre-employment checks
4. An awareness of why organisations should develop and maintain an environment that deters and prevents abuse
5. A certificate of completion valid for 5 years
How much will it cost?
As a rough idea for a standard 7 hour training session you would be expected to pay in the region of £266.00 plus travel time and mileage. If the travel time exceeds 2.5 hours each way then the quote may need to include an overnight stay. The costs are per session. A minimum of 6 attendees is required for this full days training.
PLEASE NOTE that there is a large amount of training paperwork required for this session, which are usually held in a ring binder with dividers. The Safer Recruitment Consortium has specified that this cannot be sent out to you to copy, therefore there will now be an additional cost of £10.50 per person to cover the cost of the photocopying, preparing the files, the cost of dividers and an A4 file.
